I Have a Parasite. Now What?

Now what? Well, clean it up!

Some people might have the idea that it’s okay to live with a parasitic infection since they are so common. Well… I don’t agree. Especially when they can have such a wide range of uncomfortable symptoms, including but not limited to:

Allergies, anal itching, anemia, arthritis, bloat, blood sugar imbalances, teeth grinding, fatigue, brain fog, constipation, diarrhea, degenerative muscle diseases, depression, eczema, endometriosis, hypoglycemia, hypothyroidism, weakened immune system, IBS, itchy skin or nose, joint pain, memory loss, anxiety, rashes, sleep disorders, sugar cravings, vitamin B deficiency.

Some people who might be able to help you clear up your parasite(s):

If you take this issue to a regular GP or gastroenterologist, you are unlikely to be taken seriously. Most of them are under the impression that if you have a parasite you’d be on death’s door. They are not told in school that parasites can hang around undetected for decades while causing harm to your system that will be blamed on other things or, worse yet, “unknown causes.”

So, take your concern to someone who will treat you like a person with a brain and take you seriously.

Functional Medicine Doctor or Naturopath

A functional medicine doctor or naturopath will be very well versed on parasites and the havoc they can wreak on a body. They most likely will prescribe you a natural antibiotic which will probably do the trick for you.

If you go this route, make sure to test before you treat and also 1-2 months after. It is very important to get every last bit of larvae and egg, and you will only know for sure if you test! A 3 to 6-day stool test is best for this situation.

Functional Medicine Health Coach

Same story here. A functional medicine health coach will take you seriously and can also provide the tests required to detect parasites. They may even get them for you for less money!

The advantage here is that a health coach has more time to spend with you in a visit and will coach you on other things as well. Like helping you figure out where you picked up your little visitors and how to avoid picking up more of them.

Essential oils

In my practice, if a client chooses to seek my help in getting rid of parasites, they usually use the assistance of essential oils. I work with Young Living Essential Oils exclusively because they have been proven pure. Many essential oil products out there are mixed with ingredients that should not be ingested on or in the body. I simply trust Young Living.

They have a wonderful parasite cleansing product called ParaFree. It is formulated with an advanced blend of some of the strongest essential oils studied for their cleansing abilities. My clients use it according to the instructions on the Young Living website and find relief every time!

Personally, I do a parasite cleanse at least once a year, after a colon cleanse. With the dangers of undercooked meat and fish (hello, sushi!), organic veggies (grown with natural fertilizer- manure), and parasites in drinking water, you just never know what could be hitching a ride inside your body!
